Day 5 (Tuesday 5 August 2025) The Journey Home

Time to say 'goodbye' to our house and housemates and set off on the long drive home.  We had a lunch stop at the Metro Centre at Gateshead and got home at about 6.

Day 4 (5 August 2025) Monday 4 August 2025

Today was our big Rock Choir day. Andrew and Bowie set off home whilst we got Rock Choir ready. Unfortunately the weather wasn't playing ball as Storm Floris arrived bringing with it very strong winds so our performance on the steps of the Dome was cancelled and replaced by an extrs performance at Brewhemia - an amazing German themed bar. We met up with other Rockies which was great. We sang for an hour with some of us on a stage and others round the balcony.  James loved it and sang along and danced, gaining a few fans in the process.  We were all buzzing when we finished.

Next performance was at Space Triplex which was not easy to find but we made it eventually.  We were organised into our groups and waited in the cold until it was time to go in and sing.

By this time we were tired so got a taxi back to the house.

Day 3 (Sunday 3 August 2025) Edinburgh City

Another beautiful day. After breakfast we set off to the nearby bus stop to get the bus into the city. It was quite a long drive - 40 minutes - to Usher Hall. We had decided to do the City Sightseeing bus so that we could see as much as possible. As we drove round we spotted some Rockies gathering on the steps of the Dome so we went to support them. We then went to see Paddington followed by a lunch stop on Princes Street.  Edinburgh was now very hot and very busy. We had a walk through the Princes Street gardens and then back on the bus.

Bowie and James were getting tired so the BCs went back to the house. Graeme and Elizabeth had a walk down the Royal Mile where the Fringe was in full swing with performers and visitors.  We also had to go and see the Greyfriars Bobby statue and visit his grave. After a quick beer we set off on the long bus journey back.
